How does this all work?

It can be overwhelming and daunting sometimes having to navigate and figure out how to get started with therapy. Below you can read about the typical steps that are taken when arranging therapy.

Getting started

Take the time to look at different websites and psychologists to decide which you feel is the best fit for you and yours needs at this moment. It is important to feel comfortable and safe with your psychologist. So go ahead and read about me and my therapeutic approach to decide if you'd like to work with me.

Reaching out

Get in touch with me via email at or using my contact form.

You can contact me and tell me a bit about yourself, what problems you may be having or what you'd like to work on in therapy or ask any questions that you may have.

At this point you can also ask for a free 15 minute online consultation to discuss the possibility of working together!

Information & Consent forms

Once we have decided to work together, I will send you with an information disclosure statement and informed consent form. These forms will provide you with details on the therapeutic process, confidentiality, ethical codes of conduct, fees & payments, cancellation policies, etc. Once these forms have been signed we can go ahead and schedule our first session together.

The first session

The first session will start as an intake session where we will get to know each other a bit better. Here, you can also share with me what it is that brought you in, and I will ask more in depth and clarifying questions to try my best to understand the issue(s) at hand. I may also ask you to fill out some questionnaires in order to better help me understand. We will discuss goals which we can together strive to achieve.
